The 12th International Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance will be held via live webcast from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Turkey, from 14 to 20 June 2020. The conference, themed ‘Sustainable Development for Real Economy,’ is jointly organized by the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, and International Association of Islamic Economics (IAIE).
President of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is scheduled to deliver the opening speech at the conference, which will play host online to seasoned experts and academics in Islamic economics and finance from around the world.
Dr. Berat Albayrak, Turkish Minister of Treasury and Finance, and Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, Pakistani Minister of Finance, will deliver keynote speeches, while the welcome speech will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bulut, Rector of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.
Speakers in the opening session are Dr. Zamir Iqbal, Vice President (Finance), Islamic Development Bank (IsDB); Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar; Dr. Omar Z. Hafiz, President of International Association for Islamic Economics; Nebil Dabur, Director General of SESRIC; and Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem, Acting Director General, IRTI.
