The Islamic Research and Training Institute, a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, mourns the death of His Eminence Prof. Dr. Hussein Hamid Hassan, Chairman of the Shari’ah Board of the IsDB Group, one of the pioneers in Islamic economics and finance, and one of the foremost scholars and jurists. May Allah have mercy on him.
During his lifetime, the late Dr. Hussein Hamid Hassan took the lead in establishing and leading the contemporary Islamic finance in various local and international forums.
On behalf of the employees of the Islamic Research and Training Institute, we extend our sincere condolences to Dr. Hussein’s family and loved ones, to H.E. the President and employees of the IsDB Group, as well as to practitioners and stakeholders of Islamic economics & finance and Islamic financial institutions.
We ask the Almighty Allah to forgive him and receive him in the place of the righteous with the foremost believers and martyrs. Those are the best companions.
