About the Forum
The IsDB Global Forum on Islamic Finance is an annual high-level event that serves as a platform for strategic policy dialogue on knowledge and innovation in Islamic finance and development.
Organized regularly as a side event of the IsDB Group Annual Meetings, this year’s Forum will bring together key stakeholders to discuss the theme ‘Digital Transformation and Financial Inclusion in Islamic Finance’.
The Forum will open with keynote speeches, to be followed by discussion sessions. The first session will be on integrating digital Islamic finance with postal services. The second session will discuss unleashing the potential of Sukuk for financing sustainable development.
Postal services play a key role in the delivery of goods and commodities across all parts of the country. By integrating Islamic finance instruments with digital postal services, e-commerce can be substantially enhanced. This can be of great value in particular to small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
On the other hand, Sukuk are, in essence, sustainable capital market instruments that need to be scaled up, especially by IsDB Member Countries, to help plug the massive funding gap for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
