Evidence shows that a robust financial inclusion model can help mitigate extreme poverty and improve people's financial literacy and skills by providing good opportunities to access affordable finance. One of the most valuable and successful models is the Village Saving and Loan Association (VSLA) Model, which is a community-based financial group model designed to help members save and access loans.
In this regard, the IsDB Institute is organizing this webinar to exchange experiences in applying the VSLA Model and its impact on improving the livelihoods of people with low incomes in different countries and at various levels.
Join us and engage with the CEO of VSL Associates to benefit from his expertise in replicating the previous financial inclusion models in IsDB Member Countries.
Mr. Hugh Allen is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VSL Associates, which is a group of independent practitioners working to spread the Village Savings and Loan (VSL) Savings Group (SG) model worldwide. Since 1991, working mainly through NGOs, they have helped millions of poor people access and manage their own basic financial services.
Mr. Allen has worked in development since 1970, focusing for most of the last 20 years on microfinance and technology-based market development activities. For 13 years he worked for CARE, a major international humanitarian aid organization.
