The Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) for collaboration in research and training to support expansion of Islamic finance frontiers.
The MoU was signed during a brief ceremony held at IoBM in Karachi, Pakistan.
On the occasion, Mr. Talib Karim, President of the IoBM, emphasised on the importance of creating broad based awareness of Islamic finance to enable market development and penetration of shari’ah-compliant forms of financial intermediation.
IRTI’s acting manager of research, Dr. Dawood Ashraf, who represented IRTI, noted that research in Islamic finance was a potential source of development and financial inclusion for developing countries.
Dr. Irfan Hyder, Dean IoBM, said the institute was delighted to collaborate with IRTI to support the development of innovative Islamic financial products and business models.
