The Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group has organized a brief farewell ceremony for its former Director General, Dr. Humayon Dar, who resigned from IRTI in November 2018 after serving for six months from May 2018.
The ceremony was led by the new Acting Director General of IRTI, Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem, and was attended by a number of staff of the Institute.
In his comments, Dr. Al-Suwailem expressed appreciation to the former director general for his services to IRTI in particular and to the communities it serves. He also wished him success in his future endeavors. The staff members also thanked Dr. Dar and conveyed their best wishes to him.
During the event, Dr. Dar formally handed over the affairs of IRTI to Dr. Al-Suwailem, who has been appointed to take charge effective 12 November 2018.
Before his appointment as Acting DG of IRTI, Dr. Al-Suwailem was Head of IRTI’s Financial Product Development Center.
