IRTI Welcomes Collaboration with Indonesian Hajj Fund Agency

In pursuit of its mandate of fostering the use of Islamic Finance for development, the Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group has welcomed a delegation of senior officials of the Indonesian Hajj Fund Management Agency (BPKH) to discuss capacity building programs of the Agency’s staff in Islamic Finance. The capacity building project is within the framework of a broader collaboration between IsDB and BPKH.

During the meeting held in Jeddah on 19 August 2019, the two institutions agreed to organize two programs for BPKH staff on Islamic Finance, one on principles and one on advanced applications, to be held in Jeddah in October and November 2019.

The BPKH delegation consisted of three supervisory council members, namely Abdul Hamid Paddu, Muhammad Akhyar Adnan and Mohammad Hatta; three executive board members, namely Beny Witjaksono, Ajar S. Broto and Rahmat Hidayat; as well as the Head of Investment Division, Iman Ni’matullah.

Acting Director General of IRTI, Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem, appreciated the collaboration with BPKH and assured that IRTI would work towards the realization of the objectives of the partnership to support development in IsDB member countries.
