The Acting Director General of IRTI, Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem, has delivered a training course on Product Development in Islamic Finance at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF). The program was held from 23-25 December 2018 in Manama, Bahrain.
The course presented the main strategies of product development, and introduced applications addressing important challenges facing the Islamic financial industry. These include liquidity management, Sukuk design and structure, and applications of blockchain technologies in Islamic banking.
Participants in the course, who were mainly employees of Islamic and conventional banks, were highly engaged and interactive throughout the course. They were very receptive for innovative financial products that enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of Islamic finance.
