The Islamic Development Bank Institute (IsDBI) and the Capacity Building and Training Institute (CBTI) of the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) have jointly organized a virtual training program entitled ‘Shari’ah and Operational Aspects of Sukuk’.
The program was held from 13-16 December 2021, within the framework of a collaboration between IsDBI and CBTI to support common Member Countries of the IsDB and the AMF.
The goal of the training program was to build capacity for professionals engaged in financial development activities in Arab countries with different levels of knowledge and skills in the domain of Sukuk as a financial and investment instrument.
Twelve training sessions were conducted covering various subjects that include the fundamentals of Islamic finance, features and types of Sukuk, today’s reality of sukuk market, objectives and economic functions of Sukuk, Shari’ah parameters for Sukuk issuance, risk and rating of Sukuk, structures of Sukuk connected with case studies, and resolutions of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy on Sukuk.
A total of 38 participants attended the training program from various Arab countries and expressed their satisfaction with the training program delivery.
Several trainers from both institutions delivered the training sessions. The trainers from IsDBI were Dr. Abdallahi Mohammed and Dr. Mohammed Ayyash, while the trainers from CBTI were Dr. Abdlkrim Guendouz, Dr. Heba Ali Abdelminam, Dr. Ali Ben Dob and Dr. Anwar Othman.
