Mr. Mohamed AbdelTawab Ibrahim, Senior Learning Specialist at IRTI, has been named among the three winners of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Internal Competition.
The competition aims to recognize, inspire and reward innovative ideas, originating from IsDB staff members, that are expected to contribute to improving the work environment. The three winners were announced on 7 September 2020 during a Special Town Hall Meeting hosted by the IsDB President, H.E. Dr. Bandar M.H. Hajjar, and moderated by the President’s Special Adviser on STI, Dr. Hayat Sindi.
Mr. Mohamed AbdelTawab Ibrahim won the prize for his innovative I-COACH mentoring platform. The platform brings together leaders, managers, business-line experts and heads, as well as senior and junior staff under one consolidated platform through which designated mentors with expertise in a given area provide mentoring advice to assigned staff mentees.
The platform provides an opportunity for staff to coach each other on the IsDB’s diversified lines of business, for the betterment of the services provided to Member Countries and clients.
The prize comes with a certificate signed by the H.E. the IsDB President and a cash award of USD 5,000.
The two other winners of the competition are Mr. Yasir Gorpe for his idea titled ‘IsDB Tools Word Add-in for Document Processing’ and Ms. Ima Kashim for the idea of ‘Developing Workplace Ergonomic Solutions for IsDB Staff’.
A total of 31 entries were submitted during the competition from different IsDB Group entities and departments, with IRTI and the Islamic Financial Sector Department coming tops with 3 submissions each.
Judges considered the entries based on a set of criteria focusing on generating innovative ideas that could help transform the working environment of IsDB Group and contribute to achieving the President’s Five-Year Plan (P5P). The criteria are innovativeness, impact/results, replicability, sustainability, and practicality.
